The National Academy of Chinese Theater Arts

The academy is unique in that it is the only institution that offers traditional Chinese opera as a main program. After graduating from the academy, artists will go on to serve in a variety of operas in China, in performing troupes, in secondary schools of performing arts, TV stations and cultural troupes in local areas.

The academy is located in the west of Beijing with convenient transportation. The campus occupies 50,000 square meters and is well endowed with multimedia equipment, modern stage for performances and abundant courses for teaching and research. Foreign students from many different countries come to learn the Chinese language. They recognize the opportunity to be nurtured in an art environment and to participate in stage performances.

Enrolled in the bachelor and master programs, the present 2,000 students can major in such programs as directorship, music, literature of traditional opera, stagecraft and art education.
